This small independent church was established in March 2006 by David Kniveton and his wife Sue with the blessings of Val and Tom Bethel who founded our Mother Church, the Ardudwy Spiritualist Church. Their meetings are held on a Thursday evening at the WI Hall, Talybont near Barmouth in Gwynedd, Wales starting at 7.30 pm.
Thanks go to Val and Tom, who have since retired from the church, for their help and support in the hectic period of preparatory work prior to the first service on the 3rd March 2006.
The idea of opening a Spiritualist Church in Tywyn was conceived a year or so previously to it actually happening. The delay was due to David having major back surgery. Being a Reiki Master Healer and a Spiritual Healer he is a truly walking testament to healing being complimentary to modern medicine.
Sue is a natural clairvoyant medium, preferring to give individual readings and to teach rather than serving churches demonstrating Communion with Spirit. However, Sue has worked in Tywyn church when, on the rare occasion, a visiting medium has been unable to attend.
The nearest Spiritualist Church to Tywyn is the Ardudwy church at Talybont (30 miles),
the next nearest is Newtown about 40 miles away.
Aberaeron Church is about 48 miles away.
So geographically, the TSC has filled quite a big hole and proving by the attendances every week the church is providing a much needed public service for a Spiritualist Church in Tywyn.
